WORKSHOP DESK

The workshop desk will open on the 3rd floor by the following schedule.

October 31st from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
November 1st from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM
November 2nd from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
November 3rd from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM

 

FOR SPEAKERS IN ORAL SESSION

Invited speakers in platform sessions will each be allotted 25 minutes, including discussion. In addition, 15 min will be allotted for presentations of those chosen from among the abstracts submitted and indicated an interest in being considered for platform sessions.

A data projector for use with IBM or Macintosh laptop computers will be provided. Presenters may use their own laptop computer. The computers must have a VGA 15pin HD female output and cable will be provided. In some cases, electrical connections will require a type-A adaptor (available in the meeting room), and European appliances may require a voltage transformer as well as adapter.

Speakers must download presentation files or set up computers before each session. In addition, during breaks, lunch or any other spare time, all speakers must bring their presentation materials to conference room 301 for testing. Please check your presentation schedule at the program in advance.

 


POSTERS

The poster board surface area is 180 cm high by 90 cm wide. If your poster is in one large piece, it may extend below the 180cm area, but cannot be wider than 90cm. Each poster should include: a label located at the indicating the assigned program number of the abstract; title and the authors. In addition, a copy of the abstract, in large type, should be posted in the upper left-hand corner of the poster board. Please:

  • Display a copy of your abstract
  • Place label and illustrations on the poster board with pushpins, thumbtacks or velcro, which the Workshop will supply.
  • Do not write or draw on the poster boards.
  • Remove before 12:30 PM on 3 November.

Posters will be mounted and may be viewed from 9:00 AM on 31 October to 5:30 PM on 2 November. The hall will remain open for poster viewing until 9:00 PM each night; it will reopen at 8:30 AM each morning.

Poster Session A (Odd numbered posters)

Authors assigned odd-numbered poster boards should present from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM on 31 October; even-numbered posters should present from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM on 1 November..

 

POSTER PREVIEW

During the poster preview session, each poster presenter will be allotted 100 seconds to talk about her/his poster.

PUBLIC LECTURES

Public lectures will be held on November 3, Thursday. These lectures are a service to the community, aimed to the public and especially university students. The goal is to introduce the significance and recent advances in the study of dynein and molecular mechanisms of motor proteins. All participants of the workshop Dynein 2005 are welcome to attend this public lectures. Simultaneous translation service will be provided.

 

WELCOME MIXER

Welcome mixer will be held at the night before the workshop.
All registered attendees of workshop and accompanied persons are welcome.

WORKSHOP BANQUET

A conference dinner cruise, buffet style, for the workshop attendees and accompanied persons will be held at the following schedule.
Advanced registration is necessary to join.

Fee 8,000 JP Yen for a person.

For the dinner cruise, a shuttle bus service will be available between the conference site and the port.

FOOD/BEVERAGES

Light meals will be available for purchase at the restaurant on the 1st floor of the International Conference Center. For detail, please refer to the brochure for a list of food/beverage services in International Conference Center Kobe and a list of local restaurants on-site.

CHILDREN

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the International Conference Room without an adult and must be under the supervision of an adult at all times. For the safety of small children, strollers are not permitted on the International Conference Room.

MESSAGE CENTER

Message boards will be provided at the workshop reception desk.
Messages may be left for registrants between the hours of 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM.

SMOKING POLICY

For the comfort and health of all attendees, smoking is not permitted in the International Conference Center Kobe.

ELECTRICITY

The electricity used in Kobe Japan is 60Hz, 100 volts. The plug type is type A, flat blade attachement plug.
European appliances brought here will require a voltage transformer and a plug adapter.

TAXI SERVICE

Kobe taxis operate on a meter system. By law, all rates must be posted in each cab.

TIPPING

Tipping is not needed; service charges are automatically added to the bill.
